Toronawa & Lidia Núñez present: TOKYO LA NUIT
OCTOBER 8-13 2025
This is an exploration. Of bodies as language. Of neon as mood. Of connection as art. Our work is born and raised in the depths of Tokyo's rich subcultural landscape.
Tokyo La Nuit is our love letter to Tokyo as it glows after dark. To the city who creates beauty out of tension, intimacy, and subculture. To the art made in clubs, rooftops, basements, love hotels of the best city in the world. It’s made from real bodies: pigment on flesh and rope against skin. Love made of neon, sweat, trust, and desire.
An exhibition split between two mediums and one night.
The Artists

Artist
Lidia Núñez
Lidia creates paintings using bodies as brushes—real people dipped in pigment, their movements captured on canvas. Many of these pieces were conceived live at Department H, Tokyo's legendary underground party known for its drag performances, BDSM artistry, and boundary-pushing creativity. In this space, art isn't confined to galleries; it's alive, dynamic, and deeply happy.
Seeing people being themselves without fear makes me happy. The venue exudes this warm safety where people can stop performing and be what their heart tells them. And all feels right.

Artist
Toronawa
Neon punks is a photographic exhibition capturing Toronawa’s journey through Tokyo’s underground night scene, where the city’s meticulously crafted daytime order gives way to something raw, visceral, and electric.
Through Toronawa’s lenses, we enter a defiant subculture of queers, rebels, punks, and outsiders. Free spirits bound by a fascination with rope and a fierce refusal to be absorbed by the social machine. Free spirits diving into the realm of altered states, sensory extremes, and unapologetic exploration of the
human condition.
